Psychic Children
Do you have a psychic child? Well I have 2, actually one is a sensitive and one is a psychic/medium. What is the difference? Well a sensitive will feel a lot of different energy’s but not necessarily get clear psychic visions. They will have a very strong intuition as well.
I was also a psychic child. One day I was watching a show on television about psychic children and I forgot how frightening this can be as a child. I have been psychic all of my life so I do not know what it is like to be “normal”. As I got older I realized that not every one had this ability. I would just “know” things, and people would ask “how do you just know, you can’t just know!” Well you see, I thought every one just knew things. I thought it was weird that they didn’t just “know” things. I wondered why they weren’t tapping into their own abilities. As I got older I realized that people did not know many things that I was talking about. So I just stopped talking to them about it.
When I became a teenager, I really got skeptical. How could I just know things? Why me? What makes me so special? How do I know that I am even right? So I decided to pretend that I was no longer psychic, easy as that! Well…not so easy. I had a vision about me being in a car wreck after school and that I should go home early. I thought, whatever, I will just ignore it and it will go away. It bothered me all day, but I was determined to get rid of “this knowing”. Needless to say I left school that afternoon and got into a four car accident. That was the last time I decided to “challenge” my abilities.
Now “coming out of the closet” as a psychic was not easy either. People did not and still do not always believe me. The difference is I accept being this way, it is a way of life for me, not something I do for fun. I no longer feel the need to prove myself, if they believe me fine, if they don’t fine. Over the years I have had several premonitions about friends and family that have definitely changed their minds and many of them call me regularly with concerns. They have also seen me help clients and seem to respect that I am helping people whether they believe in psychic ability or not.
Now for my own children it was very different. Since I was already a psychic I think that my understanding of the gift and being able to explain what things were was very helpful. Let’s take my son for example. I remember when he was 4 he asked me if he could have some ice cream. I said sure! He said to me “You are the best mom ever, much better than my last mom.” He continued, “ But she was only my mom in one lifetime you have been my mom in 4 lifetimes. My dad was not the same dad that I have in this lifetime. He was a different dad, he used to chop wood a lot!” This was my first clue! However, children can have clear past life memories and not be psychic.
Over the years he would see more and more spirits. I remember driving by an empty lot one day. People had been asking me if they should put up a business there. I had always told them to just look else where there was too much bad energy, it would affect any business. Any how, while driving by the empty lot I asked my son “What do you see over there?” He said “A man in a robe, right there. Oh no, you can’t see him anymore. He ran behind that church!” I said “What church?” He looked back and no longer seen the church. His eyes got really big and he asked “The church is gone! Why did I see that?” See, there used to be an old church on that property years ago. I told him that he was just seeing what used to be there and the monk was in the time of the church. He then said he did not like that area, it felt weird.
He also has a guide around that we call Frank. He has been around for years and he can see him like he can see everyone else, except that he is a little more see through. I have always told my kids there is nothing to be scared of, they can not hurt you in any way. In this case Frank told me he was there to protect the house. My son would see him mostly walking out on the front deck, although he would show up at the end of his bed and startle him occasionally. I once asked him, “Why do you think Frank is here?” Quickly he answered, “To protect us!” I had not given my son this information. We would talk about the spirits in our house a lot, even the mischievous ones. I think this helped, he used to say “I feel sorry for people that do not have spirits around, it would feel so lonely.” I agree…. I like feeling them around too.
After watching the show I realized that my son and daughter are very well adjusted kids and do not live in fear. I do not remember my son ever having this problem. It was harder for me growing up though, so I can relate to the fear and uncertainty. So what made it different?
I thought about it and I put together some information that I think helped my children to live basically “normal” lives with out the fear:
1) Realize that because your child is psychic does not mean that they are meant to do readings, etc. – I do not believe that this is the path that my son will take.
2) It is important to make sure that they understand their ability – That it is real and will most likely always be a part of their every day life. It can be helpful, and they can learn to tune it out to some extent.
3) That spirits will not harm them – It is hard for psychics to sleep at night with out hearing all kinds of racquet. It helped my son to sleep with the television on. This helps quite a bit, it drowns out the noise and gives your mind something else to listen to. Spirits are active at night and your mind is very receptive when you are going to sleep, it is like opening the flood gates.
4) Being psychic can be energetically draining – They should learn psychic protection if they need to. You pick up on other people’s energy, and take their emotions on. This can happen in the mall or at school. If this is a problem have them imagine themselves in a bubble surrounded by white light not allowing anything to get through. Then have them ask god to desolve other people’s energy into the white light of the holy spirit. Have them do this before you go out some where crowded. Taking on every one else’s feelings can make you feel anxious, especially in some where crowded like a department store.
5) It is also important to also pay attention to what your children say and take them seriously – Do not disregard what they are saying because they are young. For instance, if they do not like someone or some situation, there is usually a very valid reason. These kids can sense someone’s energy and intention like no body’s business.
6) You need to let them know that they are in control – There is sometimes a feeling of having no control over what you are experiencing when you are young. You can ask god not to show you things that you can not do anything about or have no control over. For instance it was very scary when I was younger and knew that my brother was going to be in an accident. I had no control over this and just had to wait and pray that he would be ok. Luckily as he drove his car off of a ravine, it just happened to land on the only pile of trees in the area. This just barely kept his car from launching over the hill several hundred more feet to the bottom. I ask not to be shown these things I have no control over, and have not had this sort of problem since.
7) If and when to let people know about it – We did discuss that their friends and parents of friends would have a hard time understanding their gift. I have left it up to them if they wanted to let them know about their or my own abilities. Remember, your child is psychic, you need to trust their judgement.
Knowledge is very important. If you do not know the answers to your child’s questions, buy a book or talk with some one who might know the answer. Let them know that all their questions are good ones. For these kids knowledge is power!
