I work with my angels and spirit guides…

‘Waking up in the middle of the night again I saw a man at the end of the bed. Dad would rush in and check my room, looking under the bed and in the wardrobe…and of course he could see no one there.
Mum would always call out, ‘go back to sleep you are having a nightmare’. And so all of my earlier experiences were explained away, but now I know that my visitor was my spirit guide.
I had lots of paranormal experiences when I was a child. On a family holiday to the Isle of White my guardian angels helped support me in the sea when I got into difficulties. I felt their energy around me as they helped me safely back to shore.
On another family holiday I remember the excitement of walking down the pier with my sisters. The strong winds pulled us along and we pretended we could fly. Later on that night the two of us had out-of-body experiences and actually found ourselves flying down that pier for real in our spirit bodies. The experience seemed so real at the time and it was only years later when we discussed our childhood holidays that we realised we had both had the same experience that night. Up until that point, we had both decided to keep quiet!
As a teenager I came across a book called ‘Life after Life’ by Dr Raymond Moody. The book explained how we survive physical death and documented peoples near death experiences. I think it was the first time that I realised that we are more than just a body. I became fascinated by the afterlife but of course as a teenager then, it was pretty well impossible to find information about these things. There was no such thing as the internet at that time!
I used to long to be psychic and had no idea that I already was! I remember one night waking up to see the spirits of two children in my bedroom. They appeared in full colour and traditional Dutch costume although I have no idea why. I wasn’t frightened and sat up so that I could talk to them. I could hear them giggling but as I sat up they began to fade away and I called out to them to stay. I was so disappointed that they were leaving. I realise later that the space between sleeping and being fully awake is a great time to see spirits and other spirits would often pop into see me at this time.
One night I woke up to see a face right up close to mine. A little old man was peering over me. I think he had just popped into my room to be nosey! At one point there were so many people visiting me during the night that it was hard to go to sleep. A friend suggested that I ask them to go away and I tried it. Thankfully I managed to get some sleep after that.
I was stunned to discover that my Grandmother had also had psychic experiences. It seems that maybe I had inherited my abilities. When she was a young mother, her son Billy (my mother’s brother) was evacuated to London during the war. My Grandmother dreamt over and over again that he would drown and begged relatives to help bring him home from the country where she felt he was in danger. Sadly, communication was not as easy as it was then and my uncle did drown in exactly the way my Grandmother had predicted, which was a real tragedy.
Later my grandmother had another premonition and this time she saw my Grandfather come off his motorbike. She even saw his army cap badge shining in the sun as he drove over the hill and she was so worried even though other family members tried to reassure her. My Grandfather went all through the war years and was fine but the week he came home he did come off his motorbike exactly as my Grandmother had seen it happen. He was wearing his uniform at the time because it was still the smartest set of clothes he owned. Luckily this time no one was hurt.
I was surprised to learn later on that I had a great uncle from my father’s side of the family who worked with a Native American spirit guide. He even had a painting of his guide over his bed. This uncle was a pillar of the community and worked as a local counsellor amongst other things so these sorts of things weren’t talked about. I wish I had known him better in life as I can imagine the fascinating things we could have talked about.
Another uncle worked with him quite closely and the two of them used spiritual healing. My uncle Eric is someone who works with me now from the other side. Uncle Eric appears in dreams and visions, not just to me but to other members of the family too. He always flickers lights to tell us he is around. One day my sisters and I were sitting around a table talking about him when the light began to flicker rapidly before exploding above us! He has got a little better at controlling electricity now and we haven’t had a repeat of the breaking glass since thank goodness!
One day I was chatting to my Dad about my uncle Eric who (was actually my Dads brother) and we were laughing about the way he manipulates electricity from the other side. ‘I bet Uncle Eric does something fun before I leave,’ I suggested as I stood up to go, and just at that moment the smoke alarm gave a single bleep! We just burst out laughing! Of course my Dad checked the smoke alarm battery and it was fine.
Just after my last book was published my eldest daughter Charlotte was messing around taking photos of me and pretending to be a member of the paparazzi. She had taken around 50 photos and generally being annoying when I suddenly felt uncle Eric come into the room.
‘Quick’ I told her, ‘pose with Uncle Eric and I will take a photograph of you both’. My girls are very tolerant of my weird ways and Charlotte jokingly held out her arms ready as I took the snap. Later when we viewed the pictures we were amazed to see an orb had appeared on the photograph…but instead of being in the place where she was holding out her hands, it appeared behind her…which just goes to show you can’t affect everything! The funny thing was that no orbs appeared on any of the other 50 photographs she had taken before I took the camera off her!
Eric, as he was known on the earth plane is just one of my guides now, although I share him with the rest of the family. I also work with my spirit guide Kabam who is my main guide and others such as Harry who helps me with my writing. Friends and even complete strangers will bring these names to me over and over again, but I don’t need the confirmation now as I have had so much proof already. I know they are real and this has just become my normal life.
I have a lot of psychic dreams where my loved ones on the other side appear for a chat. The ‘dreams’ are called visitations and of course they are not dreams but real visits from the afterlife.
My uncle ‘visited me’ on a family holiday in Spain to warn me that my Dad should not have ‘the operation’. The next day my Dad was very ill and taken to a Spanish hospital. We persuaded the doctors to let us take Dad home even though they objected and we had to sign a release paper. We took him right to a hospital in the UK as soon we stepped off the plane and our local hospital managed to sort out his illness in a less aggressive way than they had planned in Spain. I honestly feel he would not have made it through that operation if we had let him go through with it whilst we were on holiday. Uncle Eric is looking after his brother even from the other side. Following my Grandmothers tragic loss many years ago, we always listen to our afterlife family nowadays!
I always used to worry about my own children but there was no need to be concerned. Their friends are all very ‘clued’ into these things nowadays and teenagers have so much access to psychic information that it is much easier for them than when I was growing up with psychic ability. So many of them are ITS FATE fans and the girls friends even e-mail me from school in their IT lessons to ask about their own angels and guides! They are so cool about it all thank goodness.
